Amidst the hype surrounding the COP 17/ CMP 7 Conference next month the Municipal Institute of Learning in conjunction with eThekwini Municipality’s Energy Office, hosted its recent Management Seminar around the green house gas emissions inventory for eThekwini and the role managers can play in decreasing the City’s carbon footprint.
Senior managers gathered at the Luthuli Hall in City Hall where Derek Morgan from the Energy Office presented on the green house gas emission inventory for Durban.
Morgan’s informative presentation sparked immense interest from managers and it paved the way for possible Communities of Practice (COPs) that could take place at the various departments within eThekwini, where officials can critically discuss eThekwini’s green house gas emissions inventory with their colleagues in depth.
Interested officials who would like to host their own COPs within their department can contact Fezile Njokweni on 031-322 4521/083 9555 709 or email: njokwenif@durban.gov.za
