Using technology to improve service delivery

For decades ICT technology has been evolving and consumers are constantly on the lookout for the latest technologically advanced device. It is changing the way the world operates socially and economically. At the final MILE management seminar for 2011, entitled, “What does the Technological Revolution mean for Local Government Practitioners?”  It was suggested that local government practitioners embrace ICT to improve service delivery.

South Africa’s leading technological experts, Simon Dingle and Arthur Goldstuck were guest speakers at this eighth management seminar hosted by eThekwini’s Municipal Institute of Learning (MILE) in partnership with Smart Xchange, recently.

Each of the acclaimed speakers shared their views pertaining to the latest technology and how it was received in South Africa and other parts of the world.

Officials were left with a deeper understanding of the many new advances in technology that exist and new mindsets of how they can use these innovative tools to assist them to deliver basic services and improve the quality life for all that live in eThekwini.

The next management seminar will take place in February 2012 so watch this space!
