Cities learn how to deliver good quality water and sanitation
Technical practitioners in the water sector were in awe as they saw first-hand the calibre of projects produced by eThekwini Municipality’s Water and Sanitation Unit (EWS) at the recent Water and Sanitation Master Class hosted by MILE.

Officials from various municipalities across South Africa tackled informative modules and witnessed the advanced technology and infrastructure eThekwini has put in place.

Packed with site visits and expert facilitation the participants were impressed with the master class and the innovation that was showcased.
Mirandah Raborife a Chief Development Expert from National Water Affairs found the master class to be very informative and useful for municipalities across the country.

“I really learnt a lot from this experience as it was very informative. I want to share this with other municipalities and Water Affairs wants to provide support. I will be facilitating the technical support programme between eThekwini and the municipalities,” said the enthusiastic Raborife.

Cliff Enoch an Acting Manager from Mzunduzi Municipality described the master class has invaluable and proposed that the Master class be mandatory for technical heads of Water and Sanitation to attend.

“This master class must be rolled out to individual municipalities to enable all support department heads to benefit from it. It should be mandatory for technical heads in the Water and Sanitation sector to attend and this must be sanctioned by SACA,” said Enoch.

Participants left the water and sanitation master class inspired to make positive changes in the water sector within their municipalities.
