Getting to Grips with International City to City Learning in the UCLG
Page Content
The UCLG head offices boardroom in Barcelona was buzzing with activity over the last week when members directly involved in city-to-city learning grappled with a strategic learning agenda for the next three years.
MILE-EMA representing the learning component of the Urban Strategic Planning together with colleagues from SALGA engaged with a range of other local government associations UCLG sections and other agencies to share what is being done internationally and to devise a set of criteria for learning activities to be included in the learning agenda. The results of research conducted on the mentorship Programme between eThekwini, Malawi and Namibia through the MILE municipal technical support initiative was very well received by the participants and will help shape the way future learning will unfold. A major breakthrough was the drafting of a set of four strategic learning projects. The details will be announced soon by the UCLG.
