Following an invitation by the African Local Government Academy (ALGA) Board of Academic Directors, Dr Mpilo Ngubane the Head of eThekwini Municipal Academy (EMA) presented about the City’s newly established EMA at ALGA’s second meeting of the scientific committee in Rabat, Morocco from 6-9 June 2016.
The idea behind the partnership sought by UCLGA is that EMA should be used by
UCLGA to roll out its programmes within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries.
This is another iconic recognition of EMA and it means that it will not only be focusing within the municipality but will be able to extend beyond the municipal boundaries to help other municipalities and government departments in the continent.
It should be pointed out though that EMA is already running these programmes through its Municipal Institute of Learning (MILE) and the programmes are fast becoming a demand to government institutions globally.
