EThekwini Municipality’s CPAS Unit reaching new heights!
Senior Management from Community Participation and Action Support (CPAS) took two days out of their busy schedule’s to review the strategic direction of their unit.  They gathered at Giba Gorge on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October to participate in a Strategic Planning Workshop, facilitated by MILE.

A presentation was delivered and much discussion ensued on why the CPAS unit was set up.  After much debate and facilitated discussion the senior managers developed a revised proposed draft mission statement for the unit.  This draft mission statement will be presented to the political leadership of eThekwini municipality and will be discussed with the CPAS staff before it is finalised.

The senior managers also shared with much pride CPAS successes.  They then went on to develop a strategic action plan that outlines the unit’s strategic challenges, goals, strategies, timeframes and responsible persons to implement these strategies.

As a way forward they agreed that it is imperative that all the staff from CPAS have an opportunity to participate in this strategic planning exercise.
