The MILE team facilitated a Strategic Planning Workshop for the EThekwini Municipality Audit and Risk Assurance Services (EMARAS) Unit from 6th-7th April 2017.
EMARAS Head, Mr Philip Ntsimane together with his deputy heads and senior managers gathered to envision and plan on how the unit can reach greater heights. The team reviewed their unit’s mission statement to, “EMARAS as guardians of good governance provide independent, objective assurance and consulting service that add value and improves eThekwini’s operations.”
They also went on to look at behavioural issues that are enhancing EMARAS and those that need to be changed, whilst developing a strategic action plan that focussed on their business processes. EThekwini’s Organisational Development & Change Management department will continue to work with EMARAS on helping them move from being good to being great.
