"In an era of unprecedented change – in how we live, learn and work – eThekwini Municipality must adapt and evolve in the way it develops its people," With this objective, MILE hosted a Brown Bag Session on Exploring Social Learning as a Means of Advancing Knowledge in the City.

In his presentation, MILE Senior Manager, Fezile Njokweni mentioned that nurturing talent and culture is critical to organisational success and sustainability. Highlighting that investment in learning and development must deliver more benefit to move people than ever before, Njokweni says that according to trends organisations that deliver effective learning and development have the following benefits:

i) recruit and retain the right people; ii) address skills gaps; iii) increase productivity and iv) improve knowledge sharing. Social learning provides high quality collaborative learning delivered at scale.

The Brown Bag Session fostered a conversation and discussion on innovation and progress, as well as the sharing of thoughts.
