The purpose of the Investment Fair was to enhance cooperation and collaboration between municipalities, sector departments, government agencies, and the private sector in undertaking regional economic development initiatives;  to assist OR Tambo DM with the implementation of the bankable business plan; to create a peer-to-peer knowledge sharing platform for LED practitioners; to allow municipalities to share their challenges and experiences in the domain of local and regional economic development and to market the identified catalytic project to the identified potential investors.

In her welcoming address the Executive Mayor: OR Tambo DM, Hon Cllr. T. Sokhanyile encouraged stakeholders to work together with the OR Tambo DM, “We are calling upon everyone that is here to assist this municipality, come and work with us, this is your area”.
