The eThekwini-University Research Committee welcomes you to its 4th Research Symposium.
 
eThekwini’s Municipal Institute of Learning (MILE) and its research aligned partners Durban University of Technology (DUT),Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) , University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), University of South Africa (UNISA) and University of Zululand (UNIZULU)  extends an invitation to you to join us at the 4th annual eThekwini-University Research Symposium, EURS 2016. This event aims to provide a common platform for city practitioners and its academic partners to network and identify opportunities for strategic and collaborative research outputs that advance municipal service delivery under the broad theme “Durban, A city in transformation: Towards an Effective, Inclusive and Sustainable Socio-Economic Outcome.” 
 
The two-day program will feature a selection of presentations, posters, exhibits and demonstrations which show evidence of creativity and innovation in response to local government challenges in water & sanitation; energy; public health, IT, human settlements and social infrastructure.

 

Expected Outcomes of the Symposium

  • To provide networking opportunities and to further strengthen collaboration between academia and municipal practitioners.
  • To profile research outputs relevant to eThekwini Municipality.
  • To harness innovations, creativity and best practices to improve the quality of life of residents in Durban.
